Providing Continuous Service to Our Local and World Community since May 6, 1925.

15th Annual Moorestown Rotary 8K - Pre-Registration Form

Club History

The Rotary Club of Moorestown, New Jersey was founded on May 6, 1925. The Club meets from 12:15 to 1:30 PM every Thursday at the Moorestown Community House for fellowship, lunch and program.

The Club is organizationally a part of District #7640 of Rotary International.

Rotary's Purpose

The purpose of Rotary is simple yet huge in perspective and scale: to promote fellowship locally and throughout the world by meeting and interacting with people living within and beyond our community. Rotary's motto is "Service Above Self".

Rotarians

Becoming a Rotarian means making a personal commitment to contribute one's time, resources, and energy toward making Rotary goals a reality.

The returns to our members for their participation are enormous: knowing you are an important part of a group which is effectively eradicating Polio in this century throughout the world, knowing that locally the Club annually provides scholarships that further the education of local students by your participation in the Club's fund-raising events; and, knowing the meetings and assemblies you attend foster greater understanding between all people and create a world of new experiences and friends.

Indeed, it is true, "They Profit Most Who Serve Best!"

Avenues of Service

Rotary clubs are organized into many committees in order to achieve the club goals.

Committees are grouped together and supervised by an elected club director under one of Rotary's four Avenues of Service. The Avenues are Club Service, Community Service, Vocational Service and International Service. Service is, of course, the key ingredient in the formula. Through Service, each club organizes and works toward fulfilling its own and Rotary International goals.

Committees operate the club, raise funds, organize social events, support community projects, promote the use of many social and medical programs for the needy, provide programs and education to local students to help them avoid the perils of substance abuse, support international relief programs and much more.

Charitable Activities

Moorestown Rotary Charities, Inc. is funded by the fund-raising activities of the Rotary Club of Moorestown. The separate non-profit corporation distributes funds to many worthwhile organizations on behalf of the Club.

Recent donations have been made to civic improvement associations, school programs, substance abuse programs, social welfare programs, volunteer service organizations, international relief and medical assistance agencies, and college scholarships for local students. Scholarships have been provided to as many as 15 students per year for over twenty years.
